Q: Where do you deliver to?
A: We will deliver almost anywhere – please see our FREE* delivery map
Q: Is your wood dry?
A: Yes it is. We never sell wet wood as we believe we have only one opportunity to deal with you, and if we sell you poor quality products, you will never deal with us again.
Q: How long will a cubic metre of firewood last?
A: It is impossible to answer this question as there are so many factors involved; such as the type of fire you have, the height and diameter of your chimney or flue, how warm you like your house to be and so on.
The most common answer I give to this question is: a cubic metre of firewood will last a lifetime – if you don’t set fire to it!
Q: Why do you sell wood by cubic metre, and coal by the tonne?
A: The weight of wood varies between species and on moisture content. If we are selling dry wood by weight, how can we possibly compete fairly with someone who is selling wet wood by weight? A cubic metre is a cubic metre, whether wet, dry or indifferent and is therefore a fair and practical measure.
Q: Do you sell anywhere else?
A: Yes – you will find us at the various firewood and log auctions throughout the county the Autumn. The Lincolnshire Firewood Fair is just one of them where we auction off top quality seasoned firewood and logs. Its a great opportunity to meet the team and learn more about environmentally sustainable fuel in general. Its a great day out.
Q: Larchwood tars up your chimney doesn’t it?
A: Only when wet, and not properly seasoned. And we don’t sell wet or unseasoned wood.
Q: How long will delivery take?
A: We will advise on delivery times when you place your order, but we always deliver within 5 working days.
Q: What is the best wood or coal for my fire?
A: Contact us and tell us the type of fire or appliance you have, and we will advise you of the best fuel to burn on it.
Q: What size logs do you supply?
A: We supply all our logs in three lengths. These are 8 inch/200mm; 10-12 inch/250-300mm; and 16-18 inch/400-450mm. As the lengths of logs increase, so does the diameter.
Q: What is Anthracite?
A: Anthracite is a form of mineral coal that is almost purely carbon – and is therefore smokeless. For more information see Wikipedia
